In her current role at UnitedHealthcare, Beth leads Engagement Solutions, a team of communications consultants and creative talent that develops award-winning communication strategies, change management practices and creative work for over 180 large employers across all industry sectors.

Specializing in both health care and change management, the Engagement Solutions team helps support new client implementation with change management communications, and creates engagement strategies to help change member behavior to optimize their health decision making, promote healthcare consumerism and support appropriate health actions. The consultants on the team utilize consumer insights, claims and utilization data, as well as principles of change management and behavioral economics to create a custom communication strategy for clients that increases employee engagement, and drives behavior change and lowers costs.

In 2016, clients engaged with Engagement Solutions nationwide achieved 20% lower health care costs. Overall, the team has 98% client satisfaction with implementation and effectiveness of communications, and 100% client satisfaction in open enrollment planning, support and delivery, year over year.

Prior to UnitedHealthcare, Beth held a number of different roles over her 10 year tenure at Target, ranging from managing the Target Foundation to leading internal communications, where she served on the enterprise Change Management Steering Committee and was responsible for the corporate website, intranet, benefit communications, and the Target Annual Report and Social Responsibility Report.

In various capacities with the Target Community Relations team, Beth focused on both national and local philanthropic giving programs spanning focus areas including arts, education, social service, volunteerism and the board placement program. Beth spent the first portion of her career in the advertising industry supporting clients including General Mills, U.S. Bank, as well as Definity Health before its acquisition by UnitedHealth Group. She is certified in both Prosci and Destra change management methodologies.

Beth graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, finishing her B.A. in three years, studied Comparative Politics and Policy at the London School of Economics, and has her Master’s degree in Business Communication from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is also active in the non-profit community and currently serves on the boards of the Ordway Performing Arts Center and the Hennepin County Library foundation. Previously, she served on the National Board of Directors for Grantmakers in the Arts, a membership organization supporting corporations and foundations with a philanthropic focus on the arts.

Beth looks forward to applying her knowledge of change management, corporate and non-profit leadership and breadth of industry experience to the ACMP board of directors.
